K' 21 st of August , the shares were so d on he Stock Exchange . A few days afterwards , a clerk of the broker acting for Walton ' s executors , went to the office tfthe Royal British Bank , and desired that instructions might be given for the preparation of the deed of transfer The clerk handed him two blank printed forms of transfer , which were to be filled up and signed by the pities transferring the shares . Tins was done-the transfer deeds , when so filled up , bearing date 30 th of Autrust , 1856 ; and they were subsequently handed to brokers for the purchasers . On the 3 rd of September the bank stopped payment , and on the 15 th of September an application was made to its officers to register the transfer from Walton's . executors ; but as business was at an end , that could not be done . Under these "S ubstances , it was co ntended by the official manager that the transfers were not made according te the rules legally imposed upon the bank , and that , therefore Mr . Walton ' s executors still remained primarily liable , to be placed on the list of contributones . The facts in the ntner case f that of a Mrs .
