, - , of - - - , < : ' . \ HEALTH , LONG LIFE , AND HAPPINESS , SECURED BY THAT POPULAR MEDICINE "Vro Medicine yetoffered to the world ever so rapidly 11 attained such distinguished celebrity : it is questionable if there be now any part of the civilised globe where its extraordinary healiug virtues hare not been exhibited . This signal success is not attributable to any system of advertising , but solely tothesttong recommendattons of parties cured by their use . The Proprietors of Parr ' s t Life-PUl ' a have now in their possession upwards of fifteen hundred letters , several of them from Clergymen of the Church of England , many from distinguishod isseuting \ Hinisters , from gentlemen connected with the Army and . Navy , I also from Members of Parliament , Merchauti , and I hut , * though notleast , from members of the Medical Proj fession , and a skilful Analytical Chemist ; all . speaking in f thehighesttermsofthevalueofthisinestimablemedicine . i Thii is a mass of evidence inits&TOur beyond all parallel r The extraordinary ' properties of this medicLie are thus 1 described by an eminent physician , who says , "After 1 particular observation of the action of Parr's Pills , I am » determined , in my opinion , that the following are their f true properties : — - ¦ -- - . ' B "rirst—They increase the strength , whilst most other medicines have a weakening effect upon the system , j Let any one take from three to four " or six pills every twentyfour hours , and instead of having weakened , they will be found to have revived the animal spirits ! , and to have imparted a lasting strength to the Body . ; . ( "Secondly—In their operationthey , go direct to ; the & disease . After you have taken six ot twelve pills youSvill T e ^ erience their eflfect ; the disease upon you will become [ . less and less by every dose ' youtalje , and ifyou persevere In regularly taking from three to six pills every day , a your disease will speedily he entu"ely removed from the j system . ' ... .,.. : ¦ " Thirdly—They are found after giiing them a fair trial - fora few weeks ' to 1 possess the most astonishing and invigorating properties , and they . will . overcome all obstinate , complaints , and restore sound health ; . there is a return f of good appetite shortly from the beginning of their use , I whilst their mildness as a purgative is a desideratum i greatly required oy the weak and delicate , particularly . > where violent purging is acknowledged to be injurious instead of beneficial . Fourthly—As a general Family Medicine they are ' exceedingly valuable , and no family should * be without : them ; they may bei used with perfect safety in any , disease , for to every disease they are of inestimable value , i John Dale , Esq ., of Manchester , Lecturer on Chemistry , ! and Pupil of the late celebrated Dr . Dalton , F . R . S ., in a letter addressed to tha Proprietors in London , says :-f ' i , beg to state I find them worthy of being recommended to the public fo rtheir efficacy . and simplicity , and to be really vegetablepiils , containing , as they do , nothing but what is of vegetable origin . With this assurance the public need , have no fear of giving them a fair trial . .--.. . . . ¦ . " Fifthly—There is no medicine ever introduced to the public that has become so universally popular nithfemales as Parr ' s Idfe Pills . i " or all complaints peculiar to , females they are of most astonishing efficacy ; and they are confidently recommended to them for general use . A i trial of a box of these pills will at once prove the truth of > this assertion . IMPORTANT TO THE PUBLIC . "We censidsr we are performing an act of humanity to the community of Van Dieman ' s Land in acknowledging that statements have bean mads to us by several persons who have taken Parr ' s Life Jills , with the most beneficial effect to them . Accounts of their efficacy have been furnished US by various Individuals who have taken them , since the supply furnished by the patentees in England to Mr . Donrlmg ; hut they have generally savoured so much of the marvellous , that we have hesitated to make the statements public . However , we are now satisfied from further accounts given to us , that tohesitatelonger would be perpetrating an act of criminal omission to our fellowcreatures , and having taken the pills ourselves with the most satisfactory result , we perform an act of duty only iu most strongly recommending the iiso of them to tlis public at large . This we feel the more confidence in domg , knowing that under any circumstances they cannot do harm ; and our conscientious belief is , that they cannot be taken by any person without doing him good . " —ComwtU ( Van Dieman ' s Land ) Gfosette , Dec . 23 rd , 1844 . The medicine of Old Parr is the most popular of the present day . It ha 3 been before the public only , a few years ; and in this short period has firmly * established itself in public favour , and has effected immense bsnefit to all who have obtained this inestimable medicine genuine . Hence the list of respectable names bearing evidence to the high character of this remedy , and testifying beyond the possibility of doubt the wonderful character of the medicine by the number of extraordinary and decided cures wholly resulting from its use . This medicine , solely by reason of its high character , has extended itself to all parts of the world ; and therefore its healing virtues may justly be considered universal . Agents are now established in every town in the United Kingdom , and persons desirous of testing the character of Parr ' s Life Pillg may obtain printed copies of authenticated Testimonials , relating satisfactory , particulars of cures effected by this remedy . What a painful and noxious disease is the Piles , and comparatively how few of the afflicted have been permanently cured by ordinary appeals to medical skill ! This , no doubt , " arises from the use of powerful aperients , too frequently adminiatered by the profession ; indeed , strong internal medicine should always be avoided in all cases of this complaint . The proprietor of the above ointment , after years of acute suffering , placed himself under th » treatment of that eminent surgeen , Mr . Abernethy , —was by him restored to perfect health , and has enjoyed it ever since , without the slightest return of the disorder , over a period of fifteen years , during « hich time the same Abernethian prescription has been the means of healing a vast number of desperate cases , both in and out of the proprietor ' scircle of friends , most of which cases had been judder medical care , and some of them for a very cousiierable time . Abernethy ' s Pile Ointmont was introduced » the . puWicby the desire of many who had beenperectlyhealedby its . application ; andsinceitsintroduction lie fame of this ointment has spread far and wide . Prior to being advertised , thes « pills were employed in private praetice in upwards of 1 , 800 cases , many of them most inveterate— -in many thousand cases since , and in no one instance known to fail , or to produce those unpleasant symptoms so often experienced while taking copaiba , and that class of medicines usually Resorted , to in these complaints . The proprietor pledge ? himself that not one particle of copaiba ^ either resin or balsam , cubebs , or any deleterious irigredientj enters their composition . ¦ Copaiba : and cubebs have long -been the most commonly employed medicines in . the above com . plaints ; but , from the uncertainty in their effects , together with their utter in ' efficacy in many cases' ; are fast declining in reputation ; and , ' from tht unpleasant symptoms invariably produced from taking copaiba , especially in the early stage of the ; complaint , maay of the most able modern practitioners condemn it as dangerous , and a medicine not to be depended upon .
