Shortly will be published , price to Subscribers 3 s ., to Non-Subscribers 4 s ., KOSSUTHT , and the flfcAGYARS of OLD . PROSPECTUS . Many works have been recently published upon the Hungarian war of self-defence , but none of them have thrown any light upon the sanguinary events of our ancient history , from 1527 , under the Government of the House of Habsburg , which serve to ex" plain the present . The illustrious patriots , Bethien . Botakay , TSkoly , Francis , and George Rakoczy have wnged many a war , and fought battles , in order to secure political and religious freedom . No author has undertaken to set forth the relations of Hungary to the amalgamated provinces of Austria . Hence the impossibility of obtaining a clear insight into the sanptity of our outraged rights . The public know only the glory of our hard-fought battles , and sad downfal of our country ' s cause . The Magyar fought like the lioness , he fought for self-defence , and not for revolution ; yet he was accused by the followers of the House of Habsburg of high treason , and he met with the mercy which wild beasts shew their prey . The Magyar fought and bled , not for new and immature ideas , nor for exclusive privileges , but in a holy struggle against the House of Habsburg seeking to trample v iroder foot the rights of the nation , and to annihilate the constitution of a thousand years , derived from the ancient dynasty « f Arpdd . The Magyar protested against the imposition of an absolute government . He defied tyranny , and sacrificed for liberty and the common weal 80 , 000 of the noblest children of the soil . The soul of my assassinated country summons me , —the innocent blood of many thousands of my brethren cries to me from the grass upon their graves , and calls upon me to enlighten the " . world , and all true friends of a free people , on the cause of their death . In the Appendix will be found a narrative of the adventures of Kossuth after his retreat into Turkey . This duty I have endeavoured to fulfil in my work . The fate of my unhappy fatherland ought to be a warning and * a lesson to all free people unremittingly to defend their rights , . and to struggle for every handful of their native soil against tyranny , and despotism , which merit to be bated by every upright man . J . SZEREDY . Every friend of right is solicited to promote this undertaking by obtaining Subscribers , and to send the List of Subscription ? , by the 1 st of August , to Mr . Tiiorntoj * Hunt , at the Office of the Leader , 10 , Wellington-street , Strand , ^ London .

An Act having passed in the last Session of Parliament , by which Intramural Interment * arc , in so f ; ir as the metropolis is concerned , permanently prohibited , the public have reason to regret that such legislative interference , the necessity for which ; is bo clearly indicated in the Report of the Board of Health , h < h not , owing to unavoidable circuinstuiiccB , been followed up by remedies calculated by their promptitude , vigour , and extent , to give effect to the requirement !) of the act . In this state of suspense and inactivity , the promoters of tills Company , fieling that the same spirit of individual enterprise which ha * effected such grand and beneficial results in the construction of other works of national importance and utility , may be properly and ailvautuge . ouBly applied to this comprehensive work of Sanitary Amelioration , have ventured to promulgate their plan * , which they confidently trust will be found eminently calculated to give immediate and complete effect to those requirements First . By providing a Metropolitan and National Necropolis nt such a distance from the Metropolis as public heiilth and convenience require , upon a scale of magnitude commensurate with the autiii . il mortality of a rapidly inert-ruing population , and capable of meeting the exigencies of unwonted violations ' of dJHeat < i > . Secondly . Hy ( he selection of a site PuHceptible of the highest ornamental ' characteristic ndornment , " fulfilling , " to ue <* the words of tho Board of tleulth , *• nil the requisite ' condition * of Hitiiation . distance , surface , soil , and nccdiiiibility " and capable of Airmailing separut * graves for no lens than twenty millions of bodies . Thirdly . By providing an approach to this site for the transmission of tho dead , and tho conveyance mid return of nioiirnrra , upon such teriHH , and undor such provision * a « will render the performance of the solemn funeral dlititn , alike delicate , decent , secluded , and economical , without violating- " tho highway of the river , " the resort of most of thoao who ei-ek relaxation and recreation , ineinnl and corporeal , during all the time when such highway i « available , and without mingling the light-hearted and the distre «« ed . the healthy and the victims of dlntaar the living and th » dead , in one itidUcriminnte voyage . ' Fourthly . By tho rotti rvution of separate ami distinct localities , the wholu forming parts of one great and comprehensive cemetery plan , by which tho several metropolitan parishes will prusei ve , notonly the individuality of their burial placet ) but with it that control which will inmun economy , seclusion ' mid propriety in tlm luiaugamcut of those interments , which huvo hitherto and still will conic under their management . sand acres of land at Woklng Common , on tho line of the Sonfl Western Railway , by which it can be approached , from on «« f the most central and convenient termini in the metropol is in forty minutes , being less than the time required in most cases ' X reach the metropolitan cemeteries . M ) The purchase-money for thi » land , and of certain alleged in terests therein ,, amounts to the sum of £ 57 , 000 , with a con tin gent claim upon the surplus after the payment of all exDenspa " and of £ 10 per cent , to the Shareholders . louses . They have , moreover , made arrangements with the Directors of that Company for the suitable deposit and separate trans mission of bodies , and for the conveyance and return of mom-TiT era , under circumstances which will enable the Company to present to the public a permanent tariff of charges , not on W more ceconomical than those which any other board , not havin » the advantage of a comparatively inexpensive site , can present " but even below those which now constitute the expenses of interment within the walls . The statistics of mortality for five years , within the Metropo litan Burial District , shew an average of 54 , 993 deaths , beiu ? 1051 weekly , and 151 daily , whilst the existing- Suburban Cemeteries are precluded from receiving more than 18 , 000 corpses annually , leaving no provision for the interment of 36 , 993 bodies but in parochial churchyards and private burial-grounds , where ' the same are allowed to be open . The Company will , in their act of incorporation , preparations for obtaining which are now making , bind themselves to the tariff laid down by them ; the details oi which necessaril y require under such a pledge , the most minute and critical examination ' which they are now undergoing , and will be submitted at tho earliest possible period . They will , moreover make due reservation of the right 9 of the clergy and all concerned , and will arrange that the proper parochial authorities shall , at the expense of the Company , have an opportunity of ascertaining periodicall y the fidelity and propriety with which the arrangements of the Company are carried out . The sum of One Shilling per Share will be payable on the inscription of the names of the Shareholders on the Register , and the remainder will be called f ir by instalments , not exceeding £ 2 each , at intervals not less than three months , with one month ' s notice ; it being one of the peculiar features of this undertaking that the outlay will necessarily be , in a great measure , progressive and only commensurate with the requirements of the public , and with this object the Directors reserve to themselves the power to commence and carry on their works before the full amount of capital is subscribed . For the prospectus and forms of application for shares , apply to the Secretary , at the Offices of the Company , No . 16 a , Great Geor ? e-street , Westminster ; to the Solicitors , Messrs .
