On the 13 th inst ., Lieutenant-General Sir James Bathurst , K . C . B ., in his 68 th year , Governor of Berwick . He entered the Army in May , 1794 , served under Bir Ralph Abercromby in the campaign in Egypt , was present at the sieges of Stralsund and Copenhagen , and subsequently at the battles of Corunna , Talavcra , and Busaco .

NATIONAL REFORM ASSOCTATIONOfflces , 11 , Poultry , London . Feb . 25 , 1850 . —In pursuance of the recommendation of a meeting of Reformer * , help in the City of London , on Thursday , December 20 , 1849 ( Sir Joshua Walrnslcy , M . P ., in the chair ) , to hold a Conference of the Friends of Reform from all parts of the kingdom , the Council have decided that the CONFERENCE shall be held in Crosbyhall , Biehopsgate-Btrect , on Tuesday the 23 rd and Wednesday the 24 th of April , next , the sittings to commence at eleven o ' clock in the forenoon . The objects of the Conference will be to receive reports from delegates in reference to the progress of the reform movement , to devise means of carrying out with promptitude and vigour the objects of the Association , and to complete the arrangements for realising the fund of £ 10 , 000 , required for the present year ' s operations . The gentlemen eligible to attend the Conference will bo : 1 . The members of Parliament who support Mr . Hume ' s motion . 2 . Those elected by associations or committees who have adopted the principles of the National Reform Association . The Council request that immediate Btcnd be taken by the Friends of Reform to appoint representatives , whose names should be furnished to the Secretary as soon as the nomination * are made . The Conference will close with a Soirrteat the City of London Tavern , Biahopsgate-street , on Thursday evening , the 25 th of April , at seven o ' clock .
