ADITAM'S Improved Patent Groats and Barley . THE ONLY EXISTING PATENT , And Strongly recommended by the Medical Profession . TO INVALIDS , MOTHERS , AND FAMILIES . —The important object so desirable to be obtained has at length been secured to the Public by J . and J . C . Adnam , Patentees , who , after much time and attention , have succeeded by their Tmproved Process in producing preparations of the purest and finest quality ever manufactured from the Oat and Barley . The Barley being prepared by a similar process is as pure as can be manufactured , and will be found to produce a light and nourishing Food for Infants and the Aged . A report having been circulated that preparations of so white a character could not be produced from Groats and Barley alone , the Patentees have had recourse to the highest authority for an analysis to establish the fact , a copy of which is subjoined : — Chemical Laboratory , Guy's Hospital , February 19 , 1855 . I have submitted to a microscopical and chemical examination the samples of Barley-meal and Groats which you have forwarded to me , and I beg to inform you that I find i n them only those principles which are found in good Barley . There is no mineral or other impurity present ; and , from the result of my investigation , 1 believe them to be genuine , and to possess those nutritive properties assigned by the late Dr . Pereira to this description of food . ( Signed ) A . S . Ta-XXOE . " Messrs . J . and J . C . Adnam and Co . " Caution . —To prevent errors , the Public are requested to observe that each Package bears the Signature of the Patentees , J . and J . C . Adnam . To be obtained Wholesale at the Manufactory , Maidenlane , Queen-street , London ; and Retail in Packets and Canisters at 6 d . and is . each , and in Canisters for Families at 2 s ., 5 s ., and 10 s . each , of all respectable Grocers , Druggists , & c , in Town and Country .
