THE FIELDING EUND , Ih noticiwr the recent performance of the Amateur Pantomime at Dbtot I , ane , we mentioned that it w * s in contemplation to establish , by the aid of this happy alUanceof wit and charity , a fund for the relief of emergencies among literary men , without the intermediate agency of any Institution . We are now gratified to be able to -announce the development of this excellent design , under tlie hijrhfisfc auspice ^ and with the hearty co-operation of those excellent gentlemen of the Fielding Olub , who are equally ready at all times to amuse the town and to assist "the brethren . rable purpose : — . . -,. . ¦ . - ¦ ; - > ¦ , ¦• The support with which the audiences were pleased to honour the Amateurs , at the tepresentqtions of the Pantomimes of GwgFawhea and William Tell , has enabled them to devote a considerable sum , on three separate occasions , to charitable purposes . -. . As : their performances hftvenerreu yet been attempted before a general public , it is thought that some large receipts are still , to be eolleetedi and € hey hope that the following object may be carried out , by one or more representations .-It is proposed to devote the -proceeds of the house to the establishment of a Fund " for the immedktU relief of emergencies in the Literary or Theatrical tdorld . Those connected with either profession know , 'too well , that instances occur , even weekly when , in the first iumrof affliction or calamity , ftfew pounds fonrardedat ' once , are likely to prove of far greater service than six times the sunvSttbse ^ faeBtly given , after the painful routine of application , questioaing ^ aad deliberative awarding . The fund must necessarily be too modest in its . organization to interfere in the slightest degree with any of the admirable institutions now existing . Its distribution will be in the hands of a Committee of Gentlemen , likely " to kaoTr , intimately , the circumstances of the majority of cases coming before them . Everything can . be done quietly and unobtrusively- ; and no expense need be incurred ! in the distribution . The . following gentlemen will act as Trustees to tie Fund : —Akthuk Pkatt jBabjlow ,

We are glad to find that it includes the dramatic profession among its intended beneficiaries . We wish it all success . ;•

TBE THEATBEa A mttlb piece , called Music Hath Charms , was produced on Monday evening at the pRXKCKSs ' s , as a sortof preliminary make-weight to that gorgeous Easter extravaganza , or show pantomime , the Winter's Tale , which still maintains its attraction , and which that night reached its sixty-second representation . The heroine of the farce is a young French widow , who keeps a fashionable lodginghouse in Paris , and who gradually gives up a gay Gallic suitor ^ for the sake of an eccentric and somewhat grumbling Englishman whom she at first detest * , but who adores her , and who finally achieves his conquest by the skilL with duet ' Madame clela Rochethe widowis
which he joins in an amatory . . , young , performed by Mi&s IiBCi-Eiui—a lady remarkable for the grace and vivacity of her acting ; and the successful suitor finds . arough-and ready representative in Mr . David Fishek , who is himself the adaptor of this , " trifle from France . " Mr . Balfe had a benefit at 35 bttkt ! Lakb tin Monday , when his own undying and unwithering : ^ Bohemian ^ jrf ^ ww performed , . followed by a concertjin the course of which ^ iMadame Viabdox Gajrcia , Miss Dolby , Miss Arabella Goddakd , and other notable singers , contributed to the pleasure of the audxence . - ';~ ' . ; >• ¦ . ¦ ¦ = •• : ¦ - ¦ ^ . ^ I Puriiani has been revived at the Ro ^ ai . Itat . iak Opbka , with Grist in her old part of Elvira , Gabdoki as Arturo , and Fobmes as Giorg io . —Madame Bosio has appeared as Leonora in the Trpvatore , with complete success . ., ; Xovers of the ballet have been gratified at Her Majesty's Theatre by the production of Le C&rsaire , partly founded on Lord Byron ' s poem , in which Madame Rosati has achieved a triumph . The ballet has already turned half the heads of Paris , and seems likely to dp the same with our English brains , the dancing being brilliant , the scenery gorgeous , and the stage effects stoking , Lastly , we have to chronicle that the Adei , phi has been shocking the admirers of MadameRistoeiby burlesquing her Medea , with Mr . Wright for the heroine .
