Meeting-, 25 th February , 1858 : — "The Directors are desirous of referring to a questiou which has recently attracted considerable attention , viz ., the validity of a Policy , in the event of tho death occurring after the premium has become due , but before the expiration of the days of grace allowed for its payment . They beg to inform all who are connected with this Society , that by the first of the conditions endorsed upon every Policy which has been issued from the office it is expressly provided that in the event in question the premium must be received and the sum assured become payable ; and , further , that by a resolution of the Board of this Society , even if the premium be not paid within the tune allowed for the purpose , a Policy ia held to be valid in tho case referred to , the amount of the premium being deducted from the sum assured upon settlement of the clalin .
